The universe will never be the same with the absence of the brilliant star, visionary theoretical physicist, cosmologist and author of the best-selling book A Brief History of Time: From The Big Bang to Black Holes (1988). In this cosmic episode of ASP Stuff Radio, Alberotle, Steveocrates and Paulato pay tribute to Stephen Hawking’s lasting legacy by discussing some of his big scientific ideas that have changed our view of the cosmos. Part one of this two-part special will focus on Hawking’s theory of the origins of the universe—how it might have all begun with a singularity—and his major theoretical discovery of electromagnetic radiation emitted by a black hole—famously known as “Hawking Radiation”—an historical scientific landmark as Hawking was the first physicist to bridge the gap between Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity and quantum mechanics.
ASP conclude this gravitational mind-warping episode by applying their scientific knowledge in relation with the non-scientific question “What would you do with twelve free pizzas?”
