In episode #66 Alberotle brings to light a new controversial piece of potential “Big Brother” technology called “smart coolers” that enables products to scan the faces of shoppers, which is now being piloted in a Walgreens store in Chicago. The trio of minds also talk about the recent scientific discovery of inexplicable “cosmic light flashes” or fast radio bursts (FRBs) in the deepest, darkest parts of outer space. Does this suggest proof of intelligent non-human alien life? Some scientists do not rule out this possibility. Finally, Paulato discusses the impact that various factors, e.g., sabermetrics and free agency, have had on “the [tradition and] purity of the game” of baseball, and the San Francisco Giants.
